The entire LiMPETS Network would like to extend our deep gratitude to Hannah Sarver, who has accepted another position and is no longer with the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History or managing LiMPETS programming.
Over the past six years, Hannah’s dedication and passion have kept LiMPETS thriving on California’s Central Coast, even through a global pandemic. She has engaged over 10,000 students in marine science and coastal monitoring within the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
Hannah’s unwavering support for students and teachers has been a cornerstone of the program’s success. Every year, she packed her schedule full to get as many students to the coast as possible. She equipped educators with the tools, training, and encouragement needed to integrate LiMPETS into their curricula, extending the program’s impact far beyond the shoreline. In addition to regular programming, Hannah actively mentored students from the Center for Advanced Research and Technology (CART) in intertidal data collection and analysis.
We will miss her amazing ability (and luck) to spot hidden gems in the intertidal—like octopuses and so many nudibranchs—which added magic to every field trip, deepening her students’ connection to the coast. Thank you, Hannah, for your dedication and profound impact on LiMPETS! Wishing you the BEST!
